The NE Legislature has published amendments to LB 434. The primary difference between the original published text of the bill and the amendments is a change to the late plan submittal fee. The original fee for late plan submittal has been $50.00 in addition to the plan review fee. The original text of LB 434 listed the new late submittal penalty as "an amount equal to fifty percent of the total projected cost of such remodel or construction". Amendment AM94 proposes instead, "an amount equal to an additional fifty percent of the plan review fee".
Additionally, AM94 proposes changing the effective date of the bill from July 1, 2026 to September 1, 2025.
